Googled Nexway and came up with this:īBB Business Profile | Nexway, Inc | Reviews and ComplaintsĬomputer Cleaning Service in San Francisco, CA. Got taken for $140.00 for an Avast account I thought had been cancelled years ago. I'm also hoping Avast get back to me quickly like they promised on their website, that they apologise for their error, and they agree to refund my money. Well that's my input, I hope that helps someone. Why such an increase? Has their software been going through a gradual improvement throughout the year? If so, they certainly didn't try to inform me about it. Reading the numerous complaints online, I can see how Avast have increased this particular yearly subscription from 29.99, to 39.99 to 49.99 since March 2014. I often fall into that category, especially when I can't put my hand on the information quickly, but thank you Gmail for your tag system which makes me keep old emails that sometimes do come in handy. I have spent well over an hour on this issue today, and realise that many people won't complain because it is not quite a large enough amount to be seen as worth the effort. When I am charged like this by large companies, and then find that there are many other people online having the same or very similar experiences, I can't help thinking that these companies have increased their cash flow substantially through many customers, and there will be no compensation to those customers for their time or lack of funds (even if it only ends up being temporary). It was a tedious process with many unnecessary steps. She explained it was a very simple process, a statement I believe is incorrect, having just filed my complaint, requesting a refund. Unfortunately that lady couldn't take my complaint, and explained that it needed to be made online. I managed to speak to a person from Avast who confirmed that there should be notification a month ahead that the subscription is coming up for renewal, and that they should not charge for a renewal that far in advance. Nexway gave me no prior notification of this, I only became aware when Paypal informed me of the transaction. This year, 13 days before the subscription has expired, Nexway charges my Paypal account $49.99 for the renewal. Last year in mid-March, I subscribed to Avast and was charged $29.99 for the yearly subscription.
